Typical rate is 1 per box. I searched 3 boxes this week. Came up with 2 roos & 1 merc.
For dimes & nickels, it's $1- $1.50 of silver on average per box. Crappy, but better than nothing. |

| I searched $300 of wrapped rolls with 0 silver. So when I went to re up on pennies and nickels the teller had a ziplock bag with 23 dollars in halves in it. I bought it and got 9 40% and a very lightly circulated 1964. |

| Oh the teller tried to sell me 8 big half dollars, that turned out to be dollars. She did not know that dollar coins used to be that big. I still bought them but they were all 1972. |

I slipped back into the average on the dime sort tonight.. but at least I didn't get skunked.

1 El Salvador 5 centavo.. first one of these I have found.  |

Nice score AGHunter.
I just talked to my mom last night.
She has been on a silver streak since Thanksgiving. I don't recall exactly, but I know she's scored well over 125 40% halves, and at least 1 roll of 90%. Mostly from CRWs!!! But most of these scores were for out of town for her, so new and undiscovered areas(well, just not visited for a while). |

Congrats on your visit from the "Silver Santa" 12kHz!!! And we were worried he wasn't going to make a visit this Xmas.
I did a few dimes and a few quarters today. I know you'all will say not to do quarters 'cause the yield is so low.. but here is the theory:
1. With a big enough sample you are bound to get some silver
2. It makes your teller happy to unload all those quarters she was going to have to ship.
3. Getting rid of those quarters makes room in the vault for the boxes of pennies she is going to order you.
4. What is the most likely denomination to be rolled up by Xmas shoppers anxious to get together cash for some shopping as available credit seems to get tighter?
$20 cwr dimes - Skunk
$1700 cwr quarters

3 silver quarters.. 2 64's and a really scroungy looking 44 (always check those dark gray edges)
Also got a 1960 shilling and a 1982 Canadian Proof or PL commemorative quarter with a little P on it.
All coins have already been rerolled and are ready for deposit in the morning.
