Day 2's road trip results (12/2/09):
127 miles round trip, 51 banks plus 1 dump bank, $1587.50 searched, 59- 40%, 18- 90%. If only boxes were still like this. Also, 3 proofs, 2 gold-plated halves, and 2 10K earings while dumping clad. Thats it for a couple of weeks, just hitting the usual stops for a while now. |

Did 2 1k bags last night, one canvas one plastic. Here were my results.
Canvas bag:
10 40%
1 90%
1 - 1951 Ben
1 - 1945D Walker
and.....
my first 1970. It was in good shape too.
Plastic bag (done about half of it)
Skunk so far. Dont see any silver in it either.

I really would like to find some silver commemeratives. I have found a clad one, the 1996 Olympic Swimming that had less than 46k minted, which if in good shape is worth over $100. Unfortunately this one had a nice hole in it. I would die to find one of those Columbus ones or anything that is turn of the century. Would also love to find one of those large British cents. |

| the whole road trip story got me thinking....so I left work at 2:00 today, cashed my check and hit all the bakns in my town and the 3 surronding ones in search of halves. was a total of 23 banks, only scored $64 in halves from all those banks, but did find 8- 40% halves in those.....but I also hit one bank that had 2-$20 rolls of eisenhowers, so I took those too...nothing in them but clads, but still fun to find, thought they might make some cool x-mas presents..... |

Thats the thing with hitting the road, you never know if your going to clean, unsearched territory, or if you're headed straight for a shark pit of hunters and their dump banks. Try it again though, CWR's are where its at! You still managed better than 1 silver per roll, and I cant think of any boxes lately that have done that well. Congrats. |

It is great to see people finding Franklin and Walkers in their half hunting. The oldest I have found is a few 64's. When I say a few, I mean less than 10.
The half hunting here seems to be more common than in the areas that some of ya'll are hunting.
Gonna take another road trip this week and see what I can stir up. |

No matter how many I sort.. I never get V nickel. 
That is some serious nickel sorting. Nickels are my slowest thing to sort.. so I don't go looking for them. |
