$500.00 halves.

Coin Wrap Inc. box dated 10/22/09 (same date as the box from yesterday which yielded only (1) 40%...thought that to be a bad omen, but this one was a little better!!!).

(1) 90% - 64D
(6) 40% - (2)67, (2)68D, (2)69D

Tonights sort:
Trying to get those numbers up before month end.
$400 fv CWR dimes I picked up on the way to work this morning.
I was a little concerned that I might have gotten a big batch of presorted dimes when I saw one account # lined through on the rolls and a new number written on them.
After I found a silver Roosie in the 4th roll I figured they were ok though.
Kept occasionally finding 1 or 2 silvers in a roll. I figured hey, this is not a bad batch. Then I found 4 in one roll! Not bad at all. The occasional 1 or 2 kept showing up and I kept putting them in a little cap to count later. As I neared the bottom of the bag I was kind of sad that it was almost done. This had been a pretty decent bag. I opened up another roll and I thought the light was going bad.. or I was getting tired. I didn't see hardly any copper stripes. Turns out this roll had 40 silver Roosevelts in it! I had to find a bigger container to put the silver coins in. The next few rolls had an occasional silver in them. Total count for the batch was 64 Silver Roosevelts! Whoohoo.. the Silver Santa finally came! Now I am thinking about the coins I left at that bank cause I didn't have enough money on me. Guess I will have to be back there bright and early Monday morning. I have to thank Kurr for his post about Copper Monday that got me to kick up my drive bys this week.

Sorting for silver by sound now.
Tonight I actually found a silver dime by hearing it hit the pile as I was liberating the coins from rolls into a bucket.

$200 fv dimes
1 silver Roosie

$40 fv nickels
1 WN

$60 fv quarters
Skunk - but I did get a bonus dime in the rolls

$36 fv halves
Skunk - but I got a bonus half in a $20 roll.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

In my half boxes, I found my first one on May 29. I found 19 more in July. I haven't found one since July.

Road trip 11/30/09 totals

$1762 CWR/loose teller halves

83-40%
2- 90%, both 64's

All silver came from one bank. All the other 107 banks across 157 miles today were duds. That was North, heading South on Wednesday.

$2000 in halves today

box #1 - skunk

box #2 - (1) '68D
(1) '64

box #3 - (1) '68D

box #4 - (15) 1964's
(4) Franklins '54D,'63,'63D, '62D,
(4) WLs '36S,'41,'43,'45
(1) Barber 1912D in G shape (worn headband but not slick-thin)

The reverse side of the Barber was on the end of the roll. Bing bing. I set that one aside for my wife to open.

Another nice surprise was the '45 Walking Liberty. It is in near AU condition. Close to blazing white finish. Nicer condition than majority of 1964 Kennedys I find in general. I think someone's collection got dumped here. So, total of (25)- 90% and (2)- 40% halves. Last time I found a Barber was last winter. I hit the fantastic four in this box: Barber, Walking Liberty, Franklin and Kennedy.

Went to pick up last weeks order on half boxes and found out that they carrier had sent canvas bags out instead of boxes this week. Also bags were 1k each instead of the $500 that boxes are ususally. They had two bags. I luckly had enough to pick them both up and took them home. They looked a bit old and worn and I knew there had to be some silver in these. Finnally made it home from work and ripped open the first bag...

Bag 1
106 - 40's
9 - 90's
7 - Bens
2005 and 2008 S Proofs
1987D

Bag 2
52 - 40's
3 - 90's
1 - 1945D Walker
1 - 1987P

Was a great way to end November. Over 30 troy ounces. I sure hope the carrier continues these bags instead of boxes. Only thing is they are really dirty and also full of other coins that are usually damaged. Made about $10 on other coins that were in the bag (gold dollars, quarters, dimes)

Man, that's an awesome find there! I'd be partying like it's 1999 over that, lol. Maybe I'll have to make some more orders after all the road-trippin this week. Congrats!

Scored a box w/ my brother this afternoon that wasn't expected.

$500.00 halves.

Another Coin Wrap Inc. box dated 10/22/2009. 10/22/2009 must have been a half-dollar processing day at CWI as this is 3rd or 4th box we rec'd in the last week with this date.

Pretty neat box!!!

(2) 90% - both 64D (one roll had a 64 on the end...this was a first for us!!!)
(2) 40% - both 68D
(1) 1987-D NIFC (this was also our first '87)
(1) 1999-S Clad Proof (wish it had been the '99 Ag Proof, but this coin is nearly perfect!!!)

All in all pretty decent results for a box that we didn't even think we would be getting.

Cheers,

Jeff

A whopping 6 halves produced 1 40%er... I hit two banks and all they had was six total.

Picked up the two boxes of halves which were ordered on Monday.

$1000.00 halves.

Both Coin Wrap Inc. boxes dated 10/05/2009.

Disappointing.

Box #1 - SKUNK

Box #2 - (1) 40% - 68D

Also, got the "fee talk" today. "Going forward we will need to charge you $5.00/box."

Not a good day.

I hate those talks. But this is why there is a bank on every corner.. so if one doesn't treat you right, you just walk across the street to another. If you wait about six months there will be a shift in management and you can start all over with that branch.

$70 CWR halves sorted - Skunk.. but at least I didn't get any "fee talks" this week.

Searched through my second box of halves this week and skunked! Except an Obama commerative half dollar! it was basicly a 50 cent peice spray painted gold with a sticker of Obama's inaugeration on it. It was one of those things they sold as soveniers. I guess someone thought it was worthless now only 10 months after he took office. And to add to the irony the bank i picked it up from is only 4 blocks from the White House!

Next week I have off. So I am thinking about getting a special order of $5000 or $10,000 and picking up a box or two at a time so i don't have to carry around $10,000! I just have to find enough coin machines that can take it!

It is worthless! Thats why his name is ZERO. I deface every one of those "coins" I find. Makes me feel a lot better.
