1 box halves= skunk. Almost every coin was marked with magic marker.
2 boxes nicks= 1WN
Woof!
Had better luck with pennies lately. Lots of wheats and 9 steels in the last week. Although I got the steels from different places, three were AU or better (1P, 1D, 1S)
I have been sacking lots of foreign coins away lately. Incredible actually. It makes the skunks from boxes tolerable. |

I was thrilled considering lately it's been the pits.
I have found my tenth steel penny in the last two weeks from my dump bank machine.
Lots more foreign. I have found $130 now in Canadian quarters from the dump bank magnet alone. Lots of loonies(50)and twonies(19) also.
I pile up Euros and Mexican plus all around the globe.
One bank in the area will exchange major foreign currencies. Maybe fund a trip for me some day.

New bank should have 2 boxes, no fee, in about 10 days
Hoping I can break out of this dry spell
Went thru 4 boxes of pennies and have a couple new tubes of wheats.
My dump bank has coin counters and gets lots of piggy bank dumps.
I always pluck all the unscratched shiny pennies which get sorted by year in tubes later. Lots of early stuff too. Piggy banks are time capsules.
I just finished a two week total of 11 steel pennies.

Any chance the nickel was dipped in Hg for the luster? I handled the nickel briefly, so not really worried per se. Heck, we used to play with mercury when kids. I have heard of coins being dipped in it. How would I know if it was dipped? |
