I'd love to find that many 90% ever at once.
So far in total I have found 1 Ben, 2x64, 2x90% 1990s vs. 250 or so 40%
Seems like it should be about 1 90% for every 5 40%, not 1 90% for every 50 40%.
Anyone else have terrible luck with finding 90% halves? |

I have searched over 20,000 dollars in halves this year and I have only found 2 90's . The rest were 40's. About 350. That is less than 1 percent. |

I guess I've done about $18,500 halves this year. Almost all the 90% halves came from 2 boxes. Other than that I've gotten about 7 90% this year. Definitely getting slim pickings.
Tonight take was 1 40% out of a $500 box. |

Well, like all things halves, the big scores in 90% (like the roll of Bens) are boosting the total, which is less predictive of the typical box than one might hope.
Interestingly, all of my circulation issue 90% halves were at the end of their rolls. |

Personally, I dread the day I see a really nice walker or barber at the end of a bank roll. The machine that does the rolling really digs into those halves at the end.
Same with pennies. Manage to get something rare, but have a huge ugly circle etched into it. |

$1000 Halves - 2 Brinks Boxes
Box #1 1 90% Silver - '64 2 Clad 40% Silver - '67(2) 2 NIFC Clads - '02P,'05D
Box #2 3 90% Silver - '64(3) 5 Clad 40% Silver - '67,'68D(3)'69D 1 Clad Proof - 1980S
Totals for my $1000 Halves: 4 1964 Kennedys 7 40% Silver Clads 1 Clad Proof 2 NIFC Clads
I'm still seeing some 90% silver in my boxes. However, I'm very careful to spread my dumps around so as not to overflow too many plastic bags. I seem to be getting to some of the older boxes on the pallet.

Drive by today, the bank was slow and I asked if they had any '87's. Two Tellers offered to look through the Halves that were in the coin counter:
12 Walkers 22 Bens 19 '64 JFK's 1 '69 JFK 2 '02's - P and D They apologized for not finding an '87.
The BEST drive by I've ever had. I only wish they would have let me sort for Proof's and errors, but I sure ain't complaining! |

Another box of halves.
Another skunk.
I am gonna see if I can get them to order 10K in halves. 20 boxes
If i search those in one week and get 10K the next week I can search 20k in halves before they are reboxed. I know the banks that I dump at get pickups on tuesdays (the same day I pick up). That means the 1st batch of halves will still be at the bank when the 2nd batch arrives.
Then I will have to take 6 months off or look at the same halves over and over again. |

Computer Jones,
That's an amazing pickup !! Did the tellers actually let you look through the plastic bag connected to the coin counter? My bank branches won't let me get at the plastic bags that are connected to the counting machines.

I wasn't allowed to look at any of the coins, there were three Tellers going through the bag at one point. The bag had over $500 in easy, it looked a little short to be $1000. I just waited at the counter for 35 minutes while they yelled out "1942, 1964, 1956", and I responded, "I'd like that one (over and over again)." I especially enjoyed it when one of them said how sorry they were they didn't find any '87's Definitely the best service and drive by I've ever had! |

Any good dates/mintmarks and conditions?
7 of the 64's look pristine. I can see bell lines on 3 of the Bens and read the top of the bell with a loupe, but nothing to write home about date-wise. The Walkers are pretty slick.
But, again, I ain't complaining. I bought a Lotto ticket to try and push my luck. If it hits on Saturday, I'll let everybody know. |

$150 in dimes today. Got skunked.. but got 2 bonus dimes.
$120 in quarters.. Got skunked.. and there was a nickel in place of one of the quarters so I lost my 20 cent gain from the dimes. Now I remember why I don't sort quarters.
I need to find me a full service bank like CJ where they sort the silver halves out for you. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |
