good end too...... last roll, a 2005 canadian, had not seen a 'modern' one. a 79 beaver, then there was a 1947, a 41 that looks like new. and a 43s.
so 2 wars for the night. cool. |

Would the 1942 no mm be a P mint?
Seeing this post and others about the "War" nickels started my little bit of grey matter stirring. No other war has ever given us a specific coin like the war nickel...she says with hesitation and question, has it? |

| 42's were made normal and silver. Silvers always have the P mint. |

In the US you got that 1943 steel penny. In Canada we have the Tombec V and beaver nickels, and the steel nickels from WWII and the Korean War. |

Thanks, legacypac. I completely forgot about the steel penny here in the US but that was from the same war that gave us the war nickels and I am assuming the coins you mentioned. As I am not familiar with those Canadian coins, should I correctly assume they came from this same war?
Wars have happened since but I can't think of other "war-type" coins coming into being. Or am I incorrect???
Thanks. |
