OK, so it's been three days and I haven't had time yet to post my own recipes, so in the meantime I'll offer a few thoughts on getting maximum nutrition and taste relative to storage space, convenience and portability.

I posted the link above for soup mixes because IMO soups are the simplest and fastest meal you can throw together, and if all you have to do to make the soup is just add hot water to a pre-made mix, you'll have a meal in about five minutes.

Rice, dried beans and dehydrated vegetables are the main ingredients in my soup mix(es), but really you can add those three things to any of the soup mix recipes you put together for both bulk and nutrition. The recipes themselves are sort of the icing on the cake for variety (which you need--most people go nuts if they eat the same thing over and over; Google "food fatigue")--just have the soup mixes ready and waiting, add the rice, beans and vegetables to the respective mixes when you're ready to eat them, add hot water and PRESTO, there's a quick meal.

I'll start another thread on food dehydration...

Raman noodles is teh answer. High calorie, filling food. There is not a lot of nutrition, but it can be eaten cooked or raw.

And it is really cheap.

Awake, O kings of the earth! Come ye, O, come ye, with your gold and your silver, to the help of my people, to the house of the daughters of Zion, to the help of the people of the God of this Land even Jesus Christ.

I can get a 50-lb. bag of rice at Sam's Club for about $27. How much will 50 lbs. of Ramen cost????
