Last week I stopped at a bank and had them check the sorter to see how many halves it needed to fill the bag. It had $890 in it. I took in $110 today, filled the bag and bought it from the bank.

I have edge sorted it and found 55 coins worth keeping:

14 canadian $2
3 franklins 51, 53, 58
10 1964
25- 40% halves
1 Mexican 10 peso 1973
1 Italian coin
1 trade token

I date sorted and rewrapped half of them so far and found another 40 % and 1964.

I also scored a bag of pennies. I noticed a 1 pence coin in the bag of dollar coins below the sorter. Anyone have an idea what it might be? Is there any good reason to buy the bag of dollar coins when it is full?

Wow nice score....did they give you any grief about buying the bag?

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Nice score!
I can hardly wait until I get to buy my next bag.
I hope you can get another one soon.
I'd pass on the dollar bag unless you really wanted the pence, you could probably purchase one easier than the time it would take you to dump the Dollar Slugs.

There's profit if you melt things!!

No they didn't give me a hassle buying the bag. They were real friendly. I don't even have an account with them, but they like me. I'm "the penny guy."
