A very small goal...
I finished sorting 7 boxes of dimes yesterday that yielded 7 Ag, and have finally put together a roll of Ag dimes from circulation. Took me 3 months of on and off sorting.
I actually have a total of 55 plus 2 Canadians, a '63 and a '67. The total overall average was about 1½ a box. The most I ever found in one box was 4.
The CWI boxes gave me better yields than the Brinks boxes(I've noticed just the opposite with nickels). I easily bought and sorted CWI 2:1 to the Brinks.

So, the question is this: Was it worth it to you? Sounds cool to me.

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

To me, it is ALWAYS worth my time to find any silver in a roll of coins. Congrats on your accomplishment.
On an added note...for those of you that only look at the edges of the coins before rerolling them, be warned that you may be missing out on some silver coins. I thought the same thing but since I am also looking at the coins for other purposes, I found a silver dime that was black and had to triple check the date to be certain it really was a year that was silver. No way would I have found this just by scanning the edges. |

Yeah, it was. Although I'm not sure yet if I will do any more dime sorting...
I did get shorted a few times when the coin counters counted a dime as a penny. But it added up to a little less than $2 in all the dumps I did.
My gas use was part of the overall fuel costs of all my sorting, I have no idea what that is.
So I did pay a skosh more than face, I paid $7.70 for $5.70, plus what ever percentage of my overall fuel expenses. That is 1.35x face, better than the 10x face the open market is getting. This is as much a hobby as anything else, so my time isn't really a factor.
