I remember when Veterans Day holiday rolled around, 3 out of 5 banks forgot to order for ME halves. This week Same Old S!!! Mondays pickup not there, one of Wednesdays not there, todays (Friday) not there. And since I had a bad feelin I called Tomarrows this evening to check- you guessed it NOT there. These weeks with holidays are really putting a damper on my silver fun. I did go by and pick up a couple boxes of dimes I usually reserve for Sunday and got (2) '64 Roos- I try to add a lil silver every day to keep momentum up haha. HH all, Mark

Well, it's not really BS is it? And again, guys, remember that for most coin hunters we aren't giving back very much to most of these banks/branches that order coin for us. So as long as they aren't RUDE to you, I wouldn't be too upset, .... but I can understand the frustration! |

Yep. The bank sure as heck doesn't make any money by handling coins. If you have lots of money sitting in an account that they get to play with, then they will be more motivated to make you happy to retain your account. Otherwise they are just eating fees. It costs them to order coins, somebody is getting paid to shuffle the boxes between vault and window, and when you return coin, they are either paying for a machine to count them, or paying for a service to count them and pick them up. I'm often surprised to hear that so many people are able to order large amounts of coin (24+ boxes weekly) without the bank imposing fees. |

Quite correct. However they should look PAST the lazy @ss nose on their face to realize they make at least 9 to 1 on the deposits I make from SELLING the coin they handle for me. That is better than I make selling the product. A bank is a business like any other. Remind them of your value to them.
If that doesn't work and they wanna get rude, remind them you have a lot of un-employed friends, many under foreclosure, that would love to hang out in the bank parking lot holding some signs till the economy gets straightened out! |

I was just venting here since I can't at the bank. As far as the banks is concerned it was no big deal to ME that they forgot- and they know that I do appreciate it when they get ME coin. HH Mark |

Why not that is what managers are for.

They should know. They can't fix what they aren't aware is a problem.

They should appreciate you walking in their door, rather than a competitor's.
IMHO, If you go into the bank with the thought you have an inconvenient hobby, that is how the tellers will see and treat you. An inconvenient hobbyist. I have a business. Not a big business, but it "might" be one day. If they want my deposits, I better get as much respect as their other business accounts. |

Well, since it seems to happen to others, I'm not too upset, frustration is the better word, but I am sure they got the other change (nickels, dimes, etc) to function, so unless they didn't have a delivery for these weeks, then "holiday" isn't a real excuse.
Just tell me "I forgot" and I would be fine with that.
I'm a 15+yr customer, should be worth something. At least honesty. |

In these financial times I don't leave lots of $$$ in the bank. Once I was asked (after dumping) "Where do you keep your savings"? I told her in my pocket where it belongs LOL. My banks are glad I'm seeing other banks, they all say "why don't you order more from them and less from us"? I tell them all "I do, this is the smallest pickup I make". Makes the one I get 10 boxes from not feel so bad thinking some poor slobs are having to load up more than them LOL. HH Mark |
