I finished my first $25 brinks box today hand sorting, here are the results:

602 - Coppers
78 - 1982* (keeping them separate for now)
5 - Canadian
13 - Wheats

24.08% copper excluding wheats and possible copper in my 1982 pile.

Welcome, phillips24. I hope it's the first of many. Glad you made it to the site.

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Since I don't collect pennies, what's the main motivation for those of you that do? Is it speculating that someday it will be legal to melt them and sell the copper? or is it just for the fun of it?

For me its a little of both. Neat finding the wheats and possibly someday the very elusive indian.

The people that own a Rydale machine are more of the speculators in my mind. They can go through the volume to make it economically feasable. But yeah we're all CRHers.
