Hi everyone. I found a blank slug in my $25 Brinks box this weekend. It was the same brownish color that well circulated pre '82s usually have. I weighed it on my scale (2.6g), and it's apparently a zincer. I threw it in w/ all my other zincs. Is it worth anything? Should I dig it out, or just return it to my dump bank w/ all the other zincs?

It is worth about a dollar, is very cool, and harder to find than an Indian...for sure a keeper.

horgad (as usual) nailed it. I found one with a rim in my handsorting days (looks like well circulated US Copper, found in Canada but I should weigh it now). Here are several very interesting links to check out to understand how this coin happened:

Thanks, I learned something. I had no idea there was both a blank blank error and blank planchet error. Nor did realize that the rims are put on in a separate step. I am pretty sure the three that I found are all the same and our blank blanks. I might have to dig them out and take another look at them.
