Poll Question:
Don't post numbers if you don't want to, but it would be interesting to see how much we are hoarding.
BTW: In any form (90%, 40%, ASE, Maples, generics, bars, etc.)

I've decided if big brother wanted to know how much silver I have, he already knew, so I'm not worried about broadcasting my totals.
1215 total ounces.
500 ASE's $1000 face junk quarters 2 Morgans
Bought it all at once and this recent downturn is disheartening. Fortunately it could still be sold for a profit, but not by nearly as much as before. |

Not enough, but I'm not buying right now. Maybe at the coinshow tomorrow.
Picked up some silver today. As well as some other nice coins. Not a very good turn out for the show even though it was a nice day.
As well as most of the proof like RCM sets from the 70's, not silver. And a few commemoratives and things.
one of the dealers wanted $15 for a one oz 1950 class reunion bullion coin!!! Ya right, I had to say no thanks. I'm to cheap to pay that much for an art bar with a date on it. |

Don't worry about what the downturn is doing to your stash's current melt value. I've been able to get almost nothing below $13 an ounce recently and have averaged $15-16 over the past several months except for occasional scrap pieces I've found, but the important thing isn't how much we bought before the recent plummet, but how long we keep up our courage not to sell our silver. Remember, we're hoarding PM not because of the current melt prices but because it's one of the few things that will hold its value when the dollar finally dies. At the risk of being repetitive (you can say that again ), read the article at the link in my signature line, and keep reminding yourself to hang on for the long haul. Don't get discouraged that prices are way down right now. Be encouraged by the fact that we'll be better-prepared than most people when the fiat economy of the U.S. bites the dust if we stay on the course that we're on.

Wow, I must really be a slacker, over half those voting so far have over 300 oz's. I just can't bear to pay $4-5 or more premiums, so for the moment I'll hold.

I just got 5 rolls of APMEX's Buffalo rounds (100 total) and they very nice with a proof like finish. Shipping took about 2 weeks from the time I placed the order. Highly recommend them...its too bad though that they keep selling out.
APMEX is top notch when it comes to PM's |

Picked up another 25 CML's today, dealer has them, but won't go lower then 15ea.
I still feel good about it... Being in for the long term, I don't mind the premium. He still has about 300 left, I wonder if I should sell some of these on Ebay. Any ideas on what my fees would be if I were to sell, and what do you think I could get for them.
They are 2008 UC Maples. |
