Silver is under $10.00 as of now, and still dropping.
You must be logged in to see this link.
I hope silver goes to $5.00 / oz. (or less:-))
gold to $400.00 / oz.
platinum to $375.00 / oz.
and I bet copper will still be above $1.50 / lb.
The future could hold a great reward for those who choose to invest wisely in the upcoming months. I think it is strange all the buzz of gold bullion coin shortages around the world and the USA, but yet the price is dropping daily (manipulation, is the only answer). Imagine if gold rises to $5000 /oz. and before the world could adjust for inflation, you sell off 20 oz. of gold and pay off your mortgage. These things can happen overnight. (Iceland, Zimbabwe, Germany, etc.)

Got me one 10 oz Silvertowne Bar today for $157.00...actually it was $143 but the shipping bumped it up higher. Still think of it asa decent price since bars nowadays are scarce and seem to sell rather quickly You must be logged in to see this link. |

| I'm hoping it drops to the point people are sick of silver. Then I can gobble it up in vast amounts! |

| Silver < $10? Too bad I can't find any to buy from any local dealers. |

You just might get the chance. If silver drops below $8.00 and stays there for a while, people will flock away from it. There will be more of it in the shops then you could carry away. It was that way for years under $6.00. No one was talking about siver then. Most people thought it was never going to be hot again. Look at nickel now. Down from $20+ to $5 and still falling. Copper too for that matter. These metals can have huge price swings and never say that they will never rise or fall to record prices again. It takes a rare breed to go out and buy when very few will. It is a lot easier to find buyers when they set record highs though. |

Nickelless, if you want an honest opinion that could be wrong, I suggest that you hold off buying for a while and get together some serious cash. Like I said above, it is looking to me like there is going to be a prime buying opportunity in the future for .999 pure with your choice of pritty bars or rounds. If so, it will be like Christmas for us silver bugs. Buy pritty bars for everyone's birthday and Christmas gifts. During the last silver crash I bought my nephews silver bars that they still have and talk about to this day. I'm still uncle silver to them.
Don't feel too bad if you are holding expensive silver that you bought before then. If you believe in silver long term then buy more and dollar cost average the price per ounce down. If you get enough what you have now will only be a small fraction of your silver bullion investment holdings. |

You can still find some maples here and there, my local dealer says he still has about 300 left.
Being a small timer I could only afford 50, but gotta start somewhere. Oh and he wouldn't let them go for less then 15 ea.
I don't believe the spot is accurate anyways... |

It's not that spot isn't accurate, at least in theory. The two problems are that 1) dealers probably bought silver a bit higher than it's priced right now, and they don't want to take a loss on it, hence the higher premiums, and 2) the likely manipulation of the silver market via paper options for silver that doesn't exist. Spot is accurate when supply actually exists relative to demand. The big question right now is how much the alleged supply has been fudged on paper and has driven the "official" spot price through the floor. |

A.L., I'm betting (hoping?) you're dead right on.
But, I do seem to be chewing down a few more Anti-Acid stomach tablets than usual whilst waiting to pounce! Maybe I should just grab more Lincolns and focus more on Cu? Maybe sampling a bit more Rye a little earlier in the day might help with the upset stomach? Medical use only!

It is rather exciting this silver business many of us find ourselves involved in.
Cu pennies may be next to feel the supply shortage. After those who are dumping them cheap run out, those few left holding them may cut off the supply and wait for a higher mark-up over the spot price of copper. Kind of like a cartel. And if physical PMs get to the point that you just can't find them anymore what do you think people will flock to next? Hint: it starts with a C. Once Cu pennies are all removed from circulation the party will be over and the boys of the band will need to be paid. |

| I'm with Ardent - strong hands will hold copper too. Silver is not getting any easier to find and no government is making official copper bullion with a stated face value (we call these pennies) anymore. Dealers like AMPEX are getting in the game. Coinstar has millions in pennies buried in thier financial statements as "inventory". EBay created the Copper Bullion Catagory now. The current dip is driving the weak hands and casual sorters seeking immediate profit out of the market. We are now establishing Cu Bullion as a by the pound/ton investment. Interesting times ahead. |

| If copper is due some price improvements, I am not seeing the indications when I go to the banks. They have plenty of CWRs. I'd buy more but I run out of budgeted coin money easily now when I buy hundreds of dollars of pennies to sort. People are not holding onto their copper. The only thing I can think is that they really need the folding cash or they just do not pay attention/care about the metal going up in value in the future. I think that since you can still find silver half dollars in banks and thus in circulation shows that some people just do not pay attention to any metal pricing. |

| Yeah, I think you are right. Just be glad that Oprah has not mentioned she is hoarding coins. All it takes is some publicity of that strain to make joe-sixpack hit up the banks just like we do now. |

Hey Ardent - Nice thought, but I think that's wishful thinking. I think the J6Ps who grabbed it all up have heard enough to want to keep it for a few years just to be sure. Also, when the price drops, they'll generally do just like they do in the stock market, wait for the price to come back. [HA!] That places the J6Ps in the position of selling into a real silver rally and flooding the market so that premiums move back closer to spot. Which sounds more like I expect the real world is.
