If you do a search on ebay for copper bullion you'll see auctions for some copper bullion bars. I wouldn't mind having some of these, the only problem is they sell for way over the copper spot price. It looks like an ounce is going for almost what a pound of copper should cost. This is probably because of the novelty of these bars. You are still much, much better off getting your copper from sorting pennies.
There are about 150 pennies in a pound, so sorting pennies gets you a pound of copper for $1.50. Not bad.
I began noticing this last year. At the time, a 1000 gram bar ($5 spot) fetched $40!!! Since then, I have tried to find someone to supply me with these bars. I'd pay $5 per pound, and I have to think that someone out there would sell me some, but I just can't figure it out. It would be worth the effort to try and retail these online...
I posted in the Bullion section here that I am working on producing custom copper bars and maybe rounds. I will keep everyone up to date as I pull it together.

O.K. Glad you made it here! Keep us posted on your progress. I recall as a kid a relative of mine had a one pound copper "coin" that looked like a penney.

I think I had the same thing when I was a kid. I don't remember who gave it to me, but it was probably about a pound of copper and it looked just like a penny. I may have gotten it as a souvenier in Washington DC, my dad used to take us to the different museums there alot growing up. No Idea what happened to it.
