One can get a good idea as to how many copper pennies/zincs by the weight of the box ($25.00 box). This information was posted by Sporlan on another PM site.

A box containing 100% = 2500 pennies at a weight of 3.11 grams each.

7775 / 454 (grams per pound) = 17.125 pounds.

100% zinc box is 2500 pennies at a weight of 2.5 grams each is 1943.75 grams or 14.45 pounds.

So any box heavier than 14.45 should contain copper pennies in precentages up to 100% at 17.125 pounds. In other words, the heavier the box of pennies the better.

Bad money drives out good money.
