I am having trouble finding any list on the internet for content/weight of European coins, had to rely on the 11th edition of Collecting World Coins.

I bought this book on world coins to try to find out what the metal content of different coins were, and to see if I had any foreign coins worth anything. This book wasn't cheap, $35.00 plus tax and its as thick as a phone book. Who knew there were so many coins made by so many countries and territories in only one century? The book didn't give weights of coins from Great Britian
Try the PCGS web site. Also there are a few other web sites on coins that have a separate forum for foreign coins. Possibly the NGC forum, Coin People, Coincommunity forum, coin talk, etc.
French francs from the 60s to the euro era were apparently fairly pure nickel. I've seen them advertised on ebay as nickel bullion. Wikipedia has pretty detailed historical composition information on coins in some cases but not always.
