Could some one point me to the thread that had the link for the pennies that slipped out from the mint on brass coated blanks? I think I found one or maybe just somebodies chemistry experiment. Does anybody have much experience with how these look after circulation? I have a 1985D that I see some copper worn through on the rim.
I would think you found a chemistry experiment... but welcome to the forum. It's cool to find interesting coins, but there are no wild indians even though some may swear they can find them.

I used to do that in high school chemistry class. Hold a post-'82 penny over the bunsen burner until the zinc melts but before the copper melts, gives the penny a brass coating assuming the zinc doesn't leak out (which it usually did for me). But welcome to the forum!
