You'll usually have much better luck if you open an account and keep a balance of, say, less than $10, but place regular weekly orders for pennies. That's what probably most of us here do. HoardCopperByTheTon could probably give you a few tips.

Nickelless is on to something - I get the best coin service where I've opened accounts and deposited a few hundred thousand, or better yet borrowed a few million dollars. "How many pennies and nickels would you like Mr. Legacypac? You want help carrying those to the car today?"

No wonder Peggy is sending you personal notes. Funny, I get the worst service at bank where we have millions. They never get me any pennies anymore. The good thing is.. nobody else likes them either, so there is never a line.

I have small accounts at virtually every bank I visit.. so when they ask me "Do you have an account here?" I can say "Yes, I have 4 accounts with this bank" Just make sure you get "Free" accounts.. you don't want to pay any service charges.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Normally TD gives me the worst service - and I just have a free savings account there.

I got the impression that cleaning copper pennies is not the best of ideas??? I can remember a trick back from being a kid where you would mix your change with I think baking soda and vinegar.

Ohh and just for clarification, does anyone know if having multiple bank accounts hurt your credit score?

Those who trade liberty for security have neither.

Credit scores are complex. Having bank accounts with money in them has little to no effect, and certianly no negitive effect. If you later want a loan at the bank, having an established account can be very helpful.

Best way is take some common dirty pennies and clean them. Compare to some good naturally clean condition new or old pennies. The differance should be obvious. Hard to discribe - easy to see yourself.

I have read where if you "restore" your coins, it reduces the value. Anyone else read that?

Cleaning, altering, or 'enhancing' your coin is very noticeable to experienced coin collectors, and it can altogether remove its value or severely hinder it.

Trolling is an art.

OK, not to sound paranoid but I am sure you guys have thought about it already and probability have even discussed it already as well.

Money is nasty dirty, and after touching a lot of it I get this nasty feeling and have to start washing my hands.

Am I alone on this or do you guys have ways of dealing with this problem?

Those who trade liberty for security have neither.

Hey B, I wash my hands probably ten times a day from sorting. The left one turns black if I don't.

I lick my fingers during my sorts and after. Am I doing something wrong?

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

How the heck have you not gotten the wild indian patogen? That is dangerous behavior!
