OK here is a stupid question. I got some of my coins today, but I can't see the mint mark because it is on the edge and I don't want to open the roll. I thought about opening one roll as a sacrifice, but even then it doesn't guarantee that the other rolls will be the same. Any ideas?
If I can't figure it out, I will probably just open them up, look for errors, and spend them. |

| Which mint shipped them? Pretty good chance that they are minted where they came from. |

As far as I can tell, the mint is using some third party distribution company located in TN to send out the Did anybody on the West coast order these and if so where did they ship from?
I'll try sending the mint an e-mail and see if they can tell me. I would hate to sell a roll on E-Bay and then have them returned because they were the wrong mint mark... |

I just ordered 10 rolls of Washington and 10 rolls of Jefferson, and opened all but one roll of Jefferson: All washingtons were D mint, and all Jeffersons were P, if it helps you at all. |

Thanks. I ended up doing a random sampling of my Washington rolls by carefully prying back the paper with a small screwdriver and using an eye piece for magnification. They were all D's too even here in Indy. I am still waiting for bulk of my order... |

| BLEH, I just looked at a box from the mint, DHL. DHL even delivers to the local VA office... I couldn't help but get a 250box a week back. =/ Hopefully it comes soon. |

| If they are shipping DHL, that is why they canceled my order destined for my PO Box. Maybe ask my small town bank to receive my order for me instead, where there is a will there is a way. |

| Well, my order from the mint finally came the last 3 days. Fed Ex brought me 1 box with 2 sets. UPS brought me 1 box with 6 sets one day, and then 1 box with 2 sets the next day. Some of you have said you've received yours from DHL, that's a lot of mixed shipping! |

They have the Circulating $1 Coin Direct Ship Rolls - John Quincy Adams (Y01) available again. Last time I was on they were sold out

Yes - single mint mark, single president, uncirculated coins. They call them "circulation quality" or something like that. I only scored one roll at my bank and found that while they were uncirculated, most of the coins had dings and scratches from the minting and rolling process. Perhaps the "collector" coins are handled in a more careful manner...
Look back to the start of the thread for various reasons to order these coins.

| A cool fact here for people that enjoy history--John Adams (father) and John Quincy Adams (son) were the first father/son pair to serve as US President. That might interest a lot of folks. |

If anyone is looking to get into this still, several types are now in the "product is not avalable" status.
As an side note, one of my D Washingtons has some missing lettering and weighs out 2 grams short of what it is supposed to be. I guessing (hoping) it will come up to be a missing layer. |

Here's an interesting note: I just got my Jacksons today, and opening rolls, I'm finding they're NOT solid mint marked; I have NF String rolls with both P and D mint marks inside. |

Good to know...makes them hard to sell by the roll. Anyhow I was only able to sell one roll of mine and I returned the rest to bank.
My credit card bill is due soon. So I decided what the heck, I'm going to pay the bill and try again. I just placed another maximum sized order yesterday and will do it all over again.
The website states that maximum is 2 boxes per president per order, but it does not state that there is any limit on how many or how often you can order! I think that this time I will reorder as soon as my current order is shipped. I will continue to push the limits of this offer until they tell me to back off.
Free money is free money. I figure that I can make an extra $30 a month this way and since it merges into my penny hoarding routine the time spend is minimal.
Anybody tried placing multiple orders yet? Anyhow I will let you know how it works out.
Edit: my order for yesterday got cancelled...so I guess they that mean one order per customer forever...bummer |

Yeah I was wondering what they keyed off of: name, credit card number, address? For sure, I can play around and get another order through, but I was hoping to place at least one order a month and that I can not do. |

| Pretty sure my order was cancelled because they ship courior and I specified a PO Box. Suggest trying to ship them directly to yourself c/o your favorate bank LOL. If they are not mint fresh, I'm not going to order again because my credit cards are all Canadian - so I have to pay exchange to buy the coins, then exchange to get back to Canadian to pay the card, which would cancel out the benefit of the airmiles. Still a good deal for the US based people here. |
