If I spent less time posting and more time sorting I could have a bigger bunny farm, and all those other old coins. You have some really nice scores on the older coins. The 11 1951 .999 nickel commemorative are good for a $1 each all day long. Ni is high at over 20% compared to my sorting. Biggest surprise is you did not list any non-Canada/non-US coins. I get quite a few international coins. |

legacy - I actually got a lot of foreign/oddball stuff. Tons of dimes (including a 1967 silver), pennies, a quarter (!), euro cents, and lots of island coins.
I didn't keep a tally, just threw them into my foreign coin collection "box". To make the totals and percentages work, I just lumped them in with the steel figures. |

I don't know about others, but I just go to lots of banks and ask to buy as many Nickels as they can spare. Most of the times they have a few blocks or several boxes. I can't seem to get the preorder program to work for me. End up with tons of presorted (RCM Alloy Recovery Program) or brand new coin if I order boxes. |

I simply canvass a wide variety of banks and credit unions in my city. A few of them (net receivers of coin) call me when they have an excess and I take some off their hands. It seems that nobody else in the city is extracting nickel, which helps a lot. Never been "skunked" and getting a consistent 20% yield. Perhaps I am just lucky! |

I've already booked tickets to visit your town in November! Maybe I'll bring a bag of pure steel rolls to dump LOL!!!
Lucky you don't have CDI there processing coin and extracting it. Also the local production facility must be shipping new coins far and wide and not dumping shiny steel locally to heavily.
Do you ever see your own rejects come back? Do you mark them clearly? |

Nice collection and nice tally. I also wish that I would be organized enough to provide such stats. |
