Setting them aside "just because"? Selling them as "unsearched"? Tossing them in the copper pile?
Is there enough of a market for them to be worth the effort of selling on ebay? i've gotta have $30 face or so in average circulated 40s-50s P and D mints... My coin piles are kinda getting out of control.

Considering Verizon Business service? Perhaps you'd like to consider a nice drain cleaner enema instead? |

I haven't posted in awhile due to a very hungry Ryedale, but I have the same question. I have a coffee can full of unsearched wheats and several cans full of canadians. When the Ryedale isn't watching should I search the wheats for key dates or just count them and sell a bag of them on E-bay as "unsearched"? I did start sorting the canadians, but gave up due too having way to many. |
When my wife got after me it sounded like "Blah,Blah,Blah", but now it sounds like "Clink,Clink,Clink". Its amazing what that Ryedale can do for a hounded husband. |

I have about $50 in wheats right now. I seperate them from the other copper. I have several of the coins that are worth over $10 (At least 5 of them). Let's say that wheats are worth 5 cents each and I sold all my wheats for that price I would get $250. If I sold all but the 5 wheats that were worth $10/each, and sold the special wheats for $10/each I would get $299.75. I think the best way to sell the coins would be to sell the 30's - 50's as a batch, and then the earlier coins as a batch. I think you would get at least 5 cents each on the 30-50 batch, and a lot more for the earlier coins. |

There is certainly a market for both wheats and canadians. You can sell them on eBay but you might do better net selling them to another member in the buy/sell section of the forum. I know I would be a buyer at certain prices and I am sure many others here would be as well. The bigger the quantitiy, the better, because of the cost of shipping. |

I'll give you face plus shipping for all those "pesky" Canadians. I wont even bother looking at the exchange rate. 1:1 |

I remember back when you could buy them for $65 a bag. Kind of like copper memorials are now. |

Antone doesn't have any. And you know noone else wants to sell cheap. Why did you sell all your wheats on Craig's list while they were cheap?
How junky can they be? I might be able to fish some out of my sub-prime bucket. |

I save them and do not sort out by dates (most are 40's 50's anyways). Last year I sold 10,000 of them for 560.00 not too bad I imagine.

I set them aside as follows:
1) All 1940's and 1950's that are "good" meaning they dont have any corrosion spots, arent bent, readible dates, no gunk on them 2) All 1940's and 1950's "junk" wheats which have the defects listed above 3) 1930's, 1920's, and 1910's all go into tubes by decade 4) Any that are worth putting into a 2x2 are done so and into a 20-count sheet, then into the album |

I bought over 20,000 in April for 3 cents a piece. When I finished going through them I only needed 12 for the complete set. |

Actually found 3 of the ones on the list in my penny sorting withing the last month. 14-S VF 15-S XF 24-D F
I usually just toss them in my wheat cent basket without looking, except for the ones that come out on the zinc side which I look at the dates. |
