Alright, so I went to the bank today to see if they have any boxes. Of course, they tell me no. So, then I asked them if it would be possible to order a box or two a week. She went and talked to the manager and came back and said that they won't order boxes for me. So first, they tell me that they don't have enough to give me, and then won't order me any. I think I'm going to help them out with their shortage situation

Tell them you'll be banking elsewhere. Or - close your account and go back the next week and open an account with an eager new loan officer that will agree to your condition of banking there only if they will provide you whatever coinage you want when you want it. Some tellers don't want to lift a finger to help us out. Sounds like the manager is a lazy piece of excrement also.

I have had the same problem....so I started asking if they could provide me with boxes before I opened the account. 2 times I was assured that they could order for me, only to be told "no" after I opened the account. So, I did as others on this board suggested and went to other banks. I now have 3 different banks that will order $500 worth every week for me. Just keep trying different banks...don't be affraid to ask. I have, however found that $500 worth of pennies seems to be the break point. I had one bank that I was picking up $500 worth weekly, then after about 2 months, I was told they were going to start charging me $20 a week. So, now they are my dump bank. Good luck!

It is all about relationships and understanding that as far as the bank is concerned getting coins shipped in cost them money. Some bank tellers are glad to see you and others hate to see you. I’m up front and honest with the bank I buy coins from and my dump bank. I bring them candy, chocolate, I have even given one bank a cart to keep in the vault to put coins on. I give another a framed set of fake uncut gold certificates to hang on the wall. When I come in, I feel the love! LOL I am the crazy penny guy. :-) I also started getting them to order currency to look for error notes. There is nothing like getting a "brick". :-) i.e. if you don't know what a "brick" is then ask your friendly teller.

*Loves Bricks!*

*Only has 1 framed gold certificate.. but it is real*

I agree that you need to build relationships with your banks. They are not likeliy to want to get several hundred pounds of pennies on a regular basis for some guy they don't know.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Just me, but I would try to speak to the branch manager first and see if you can get some help. If not, sounds like a good candidate for a dump bank.

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Did you try a different branch of that bank? Sometimes branches of the same bank will produce much better service.
