I found a 1946 dime from sorting pennies, which according to coinflation.com is two years short of a silver dime. Just missed it...

a 1944 dime is a Mercury dime.. all of them are silver.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

All dimes from 1916-1964 are the same size and silver value - here is today's coinflation values:

1916-1945 Mercury Dime $0.10 $1.21
1946-1964 Roosevelt Dime $0.10 $1.21

Nice job finding a Mercury Dime! Never seen one of those in the wild.

You must have meant to say 1966. Close, but no cigar.

He edited it to 1946.. still silver.

I have only found 1 Mercury dime in the wild in a penny roll, and only 2 silver Rosies.. tougher to find in penny rolls than Indians.

Kind of like hunting Grizzly Bears in the wilds of Africa. Rare thing in the wrong place, but what a great find for luke!

So you thought you made a mistake, but you were mistaken.

I'll have to ponder that for a while.

Very nice! I have never even found a regular dime in a penny roll...sigh.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

It is almost rare when I don't find a regular dime in a box.. gotta love those Brinks wrapping machines.

Check You must be logged in to see this link.

But dimes, quarters, halves, and dollar coins 1964 and early are all silver. There is more know, but that is a good start. Also you can look at the edge of the coin and check for the copper layer. If it is not there, it is silver.

I looked there, that's the info I have, but Hoard said "He edited it to 1946.. still silver".
