I am doing a 7 minute visual aid speech for class, it is our last one this quarter. Looking for a 100 year or so price chart for pennies, 25 year one for zinc, any help?

Price chart? In what sense? Maybe you could do a consumer goods price search and show what one penny would buy over the years [which should have been relatively stable from 1909-1933 until the gold confiscation and ensuing devaluation of the US dollar]
Maybe find a few common items like milk, gas, a lb of copper, etc and show how devaluation of the dollar has affected them and how in the early 1900's they cost mere pennies and now cost three to four dollars.
Your presentation will be more historical and easier to follow. Pennies were really never worth more than a penny until around the early 80's when the cost of copper in a penny exceeded one US cent. Up until then they'd cost less than a cent to make, that was the reason for the switch to zinc.

Look for information like this. Something really cool would be to go to your local library and look at local newspaper archives from the starting year of each decade from 1900 until now [1900,1910,1920,etc, etc] find grocer ads for common items like butter, bacon, milk, etc.
Print them out and make a slide for each of the years to show the class so that you can document how prices have changed over the years due to devaluation of the dollar. If you can find the items decade to decade in the same size [1 lb bacon, 12 ounce can of beans, 1 gallon of milk, etc] it will be easier to make people understand. |

Wow! That would put me to sleep! Charts and graphs are way too boring! Why not do an "adventures in coin roll hunting" slant for a penny speech. Lots of good stories are on this forum to hijack! Good luck! |

So take all the figures and plug it into Excel and make a chart or graph for each item of how the cost went up over the last 100 years. I doubt you'll find a ready to use graph of what you're looking. Besides making your own will show you've done your homework and will get the teachers attention. |

Hand out a few rolls to each of the students and make 'em sort while you're speaking. |

Naturally they return the rolls to you. You are just demonstrating the ease of sorting for the speech....
