I have openend accounts at a few banks so that they will give me pennies. In addition to getting pennies I have received some other financial benefits for opening accounts.
I have received:
$50 for opening a checking account
$25 for opening a savings account
$20,000 at 0% interest for 9 months on a credit card
What is the most you have received/best deal?

Will they give you the $20,000 as a cash advance with 0% interest?
You could take it, put it in a 6 month CD at 3%, and make $300 or so.
Or better yet get them to give it to you in pennies and sort them. Sell the copper, buy more pennies, repeat.
I bet you could double your money in 9 months! |

| Yes the 20,000 was as a cash advance. It is in a money market. No Fee to get it. So that works for me. |

Actually WilliamC, your second suggestion is a really good idea.
Seeing as how the real inflation rate is about triple what that 3% CD is paying, you would be losing money.
If I remember correctly coppernicus your from MI..? We are getting 25% or better.
If you bought $20k in pennies and sorted out the 25% and took back the Zn and rebought and resorted 6 additional times. You would sort out $17,328 in CU. Then sold the Cu for 2x face value. You would make $34,657. That is a 73% return on your money. Plus the left over $3,559 in Zn.
A Ryedale(or 2, or 3) would definitely be a plus in this... I couldn't imagine sorting over 6.5 million pennies by hand in less than 9 months...

| I got 45k for 12 months for one payment of $90. At that time I parked it in a money market account at 5%. It is now down to 3%. I have used part of it to finance my coin habits. |

I opened a new account on Saturday. Yes, I can still occasionally find a bank I don't have an account at. 
For opening the account they gave me $75 cash (that's 3 boxes of unsorted pennies), 2 tickets to a Raiders/Broncos game, an insulated multicompartment picnic/lunch bag, and a pedomiter. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |

Darn.. I never got a waffle maker.. will have to add that to the list of stuff I hope to get for opening future accounts.
This one was the best so far. Previously I have gotten a classic chrome toaster, a blanket, a piggy bank, travel mugs, pens, a stuffed pony, a small teddy bear, a very large stuffed bear and a few other items.
The bank was Guarantee bank.. they are in CA and TX. |

| Add a $50 dollar gas card to that tool set!! I went to a different branch of TCF today and they had signs up that said "open a checking account and get a 50 dollar gas card." I told the guy there that I opened my account a day early because I only got a tool set yesterday. He told me the new promotion started yesterday and that I should go back to the branch that opened the account. I did, and am now a proud holder of a $50 gas card as well!! I asked if I had to return the tool set and they said don't worry about it. |

At the end of the 12 months I take the money out of the money market and pay off the credit card. Then I wait a month and the bank sends out another offer. and I do the whole thing over again. |

Go in demanding that you will open an account if they give you a waffle maker. I wonder if that would work for me. I'd like a new one. |

| I went to go get some CWR today and teller gives me a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich card. I don't know if it was something they were doing for all account holders or because I give her a discount coupon to where I work. Either way, I get a free lunch. |
