I sorted through a $100 box of nickels the other day and I came across a 1925 Buffalo Nickel. There's no mintmark (as far as I can tell) and I was wondering about how much its worth. It's in practically perfect condtion, except for the fact the the "1" in "1925" is extremely hard to see, as it is incredibly faint.

Just a guess, a buck or two or three?

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

An "almost uncirculated" 1925 goes for about $30. But, if your coin is worn such that the 1 is hard to see, you probably have a coin in the "good" condition. A 1925 in good is worth about $3.00. |
"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark
