Anyone check with their banks to see if they can buy Canadian nickels in equal exchange for US dollars?

My banks already think I'm nuts, if I started to ask them to provide me with Canadian nickels they would call the men in white coats. |

Actually I did. I know one of the assistant managers at Lasalle Bank. I offered to buy all the Canadian pennies and nickels they get. He said he would he would have to check with his supervisor. I haven't gotten an answer yet...

Good luck with that Bluegill. I tried exactly the same thing a couple months back and my bank said no. |

There is a teller at one of my banks who will let me cherry pick for Canadian nickels and exchange U.S. dollars for them. She's a saint, and one time she actually tracked down for me $100 in pre-82 Canadian nickels---still don't know how she did it. All the other tellers thinks she's nuts for helping me find my beloved .999 nickels, but she was the only teller who got a gift card to her favorite restaurant. |

My banks just seem to hand them out along with the U.S. nickels. |

You might call a coin handling co and ask buying the canadian change. Just an idea. |
