According to the United States Geological Survey
Year 1900
Gold 1700 cents /ounce
Silver 56 cents/ounce
copper 1 cent /ounce
Nickel 3 cents/ ounce
Gold/Silver ratio = 30/1
Gold/copper ratio = 1700/1
Gold/nickel ratio = 566/1
Silver/copper ratio = 56/1
Silver/ nickel ratio = 19/1
Nickel/ copper ratio = 3/1
Silver..poor mans gold
