I was thinking of sorting through $100 - $200 worth of nickels every once in a while. I've done this before, and saved all of the pre60s. From what I've read, silver is much rarer than it used to be - I guess I shouldn't be surprised. My main question, however, is if any of these 'westward journey' (or whatever they're called) are worth setting aside for a second look. Kind of like how some of the state quarters have varieties / errors.
I would save all the 200X buffalo Nickels as well.I've save everyone I've found since they came out and bet I only found 100 or so in the last 3 years.Good thing I scored those 2 $100 boxes when they came out.

There is a 2005 "speared bison" die crack error to watch for.
Have you tried an internet search for "Jefferson nickel errors" yet?

I did search google for some errors at about the same time I posted here. All I found recently was the 'speared' buffalo. All of the other 'errors' I've seen on eBay seem to be stretching the definition. Just thought I would ask some of you numismaniacs.
For now, I'm saving the pre60s, and all of the buffalos will go into a pile to be sorted later.
