I thought I had gotten every kind of penny there was to get until today. I have gotten CWR, Loose Bags, Brinks Wrap, Loomis Wrap, Dunbar Wrap, Generic Wrap, Pond Pennies, Canadian Pennies, Steel Pennies, Wheat Pennies, and even Indian Head Pennies. But I got another first today. Stopped by one of my regular banks on a drive buy.. they had 2 bank wrapped boxes for me, 12 CWR and something new.. 15 rolls of Deep Fried Pennies!!! Seems they fell in the fat at a restaurant. They asked me if I wanted them.. I said Sure! Heck, Deep Fried Snickers and Deep Fried Twinkies are good.. so why not Deep Fried Pennies? The Bank had actually rerolled them in fresh paper. Curious what I might get inside. They probably fried the S mint mark right off the 1909 VDB that is probably inside one of those rolls.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Can you post a pic? Sounds interesting.

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Did it clean them at all? Someone recently said he was cleaning them in cooking oil.

I haven't opened the rolls yet. I figure with all that grease on them they should slide right through the Ryedale.. maybe lube it up at the same time.. LOL

Don't you dare put those in the Ryedale, with the counters and the coin cup issue, those deep fried pennies could open up a whole new set of problems, like, "Andy my coin sorter smells like french fries", or "Hey Andy, I found this chicken bone lodged in the doomaflapper, what do I do?"

Hey.. my counter stopped long ago, and I have already worn out more than my fair share of coin cups.. this is just part of my ever increasing efforts to put the Ryedale to the test.. to be the first to break something that no hoarder has broken before.

All my coins are drenched with sweat. And some are glued together. With silicone tub and tile sealer!

A penny sorted is a penny earned!

Those are probably the most sanitary pennies you will ever get.

Nah.. those shiny new zincers are the most sanitary.

They weren't really any different from raw pennies.. came out to about 22% copper.
