Had my first dream the other night. Dreamed that I found dimes in every roll. Nothing more than that......yet.

banks. got it. i've been known to pick up $5 or so when i'm at the bank, but i've read of "boxes" and "brinks" so i thought maybe there was some secret penny costco that i didn't know about.

not sure what my banker would say if i asked for a box...

thanks for the welcome.

Welcome. Chances are the teller will say 'What are you going to do with all those penneies?' and or 'that will be $25.00'.

Yes Sir or Yes Ma'am is the usual response when you ask for a box of pennies. If you get any other response you might consider taking your business elsewhere. It's when you ask for multiple boxes for the first time that you might get the odd look or some push back. I doubt your bank is going to give you every penny it has on hand for a particular day. If you get to the level of sorting where you want multiple boxes at a time, you can certainly ask your bank to order that amount for you. Several on this forum have established such relationships with their respective banks.

Welcome to penny sorting/hoarding.

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Establishing a good relationship with your bank(s) can take time. Bribes (candy) help a lot. It can get to a point where the bank calls you when they get extra pennies. My main branch even knows me by my voice when I call them on the telephone. They always ask me, "How many boxes this time?" The multiple box orders are not a problem at that stage....

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."
