What date will the copper penny melt ban end, assuming it will not be renewed?

They don't have a specified end date on the ban, so there's no need to renew the regulation. 2010 would be the earliest that a ban would be lifted. They have the new Lincoln penny coming out in 2009. |

Are you that anxious for it to be lifted? Have you hoarded enough already?
Once the ban is lifted big commercial outfits like Jackson metals will ramp up and suck all the copper out of circulation and it will be slim pickins for the rest of us. Be glad the melting ban is in place. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I also think the ban will be lifted in 2010 or 2011. I think they will finally do away with the penny and the ban will be lifted. That will be about right for me I should have enough put away by then. |

2011 sounds about right. As we talked about here before, it appears there is/are big commercial outfits that are already sorting........Other than Hoard copper by the ton of course. So I don't expect the supply of copper cents will last all that much longer. It may depend on the part of the country where you live, but I can't see percentages over 10% lasting more than two more years. So when the copper cents are gone and the pay offs are made in D.C. the ban will be lifted then. |

Not much.. just a little capital and secure sources of raw pennies as well as a way to dispose of the zincs. A few machines (Got that covered) |

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |
