What's the theme of your collection?
I collect mostly animal coins, especially horses and elephants. I also have a soft spot for non-vertebrate sealife like squid, crabs, octopi, etc. My husband really likes owls and I'm trying to round up a few owl coins (total so far = 1).
What about the rest of you guys?

I can't even imagine how much one would cost. It's funny that you mention that coin, though. When I googled "owl coin" to see what was out there, that coin kept popping up. Maybe I will get one in a CWR.
I like the owl on this Canada 50 cent piece:

This is the owl coin I have. It came from Kelly's Coins (You must be logged in to see this link.)--this photo is from their site. (They have quite a few animal coins, in fact.) I like the way the owl is kind of like, "'Sup?" He kind of has a gangsta lean.

There is a Polish coin with an owl on it, too.

| My theme is SURVIVAL in any way possible. |
Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply. |

That would be a great find. I don't think it will fit in a penny roll though. I have one.. they are not quite as expensive as you might think. |

| One of my themes is animals too. There are several great animals on the antoninianus coins issued for the 1000th anniversary of Rome by Phillip I. I have a few of them. One of them has a hippo and one has a lion.. a couple of my favorite animals on coins. Lions are easy to find but there are not many coins with hippos on them. |

| Mine has always been "oddball stuff that isn't too expensive"... i've got half-cents, 2- and 3-cent pieces, "half-dimes"... foreign stuff like an aluminum Weimar coin for 500 Marks... some barely legible, some all but smooth, but all interesting in the numismatic sense. |
Considering Verizon Business service? Perhaps you'd like to consider a nice drain cleaner enema instead? |

Getting a bit more direction... now i'm focusing on lower-production Morgans, Peace dollars, and walking liberty halves, F+ condition, at or below current melt value (including shipping... there are no coin stores within 60 miles of me). If you guess that this means that i get outbid on a LOT of ebay auctions, you'd guess correctly :) |

To tell the truth it is coins. I have thousands of coins from around the world but the bulk of my collection and what I like to focus on are coins of Canada, Britain and the US pre 1940's.

Well mostly the UK, but I have coins from Vicoria's time from the Straight Settlements, India, Australia, Jersey, etc.
Thanks for asking!

Any type of silver dollar. I like them for some reason. I have a bunch of random u.s. silver coins, but that isn't my main concern. I do have a lot of wheat pennies as well. |

he must have tons of money. i wanted a set of all MS+ coins but then i get to 1916d dime, cost more than my camaro did in MS-60, so i said ill never afford that and went with vf or so, still looks nice. the early large cents and half cents, 20 cents, and the gold coins (especially the 3$)are why i work so much overtime, i try to add 1 coin or 2 per year, this year i added a 1877 indian penny in AU condition or so. thats why i drive a camaro and not a corvette...the money goes to coins.......and the girlfriend(mostly) |

HoardCopper, I didn't get the real thing, but here's something pretty close -- it's a 1973 2 drachmai coin:

I saw a lion coin from the Congo in a catalog and thought of you. You probably know the one I'm talking about. It's aluminum and the lion's head takes up the entire face of the coin. |
