I'd guess that I've sorted somewhere in the neighborhood of $3000 and just today found my first Indian Head (1901 VG maybe). In the same box, I found a 1914 and 2 1920's as well. I already have almost all of the Indian Heads in a Whitman album in my Safe Deposit box, so I don't exactly consider this to be a holy grail find but it was cool to finally find one. I just had my 1877 IH graded by NGC and it came back as an AG3 BN (for brown). I do want to upgrade this coin over the years by selling and investing a few more bucks in the next higher grade until I get an XF coin.
Yea I would love to get my Lincoln cent collection in better shape. I pick up an Indian (liberty) penny ever now and then.
Congrats on the find! it is a great feeling getting one of them for a penny!

`Everybody is ignorant. Only on different subjects.' Will Rogers
"This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the "hidden" confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard." Alan Greenspan, 1966.
I didn't find an Indian, but I came across my first counterfeit bill. I was at a county fair in the SOUTH, and received a 100 bill in change. How did I know it was counterfeit? It said "hunerd" on it. Oh, and the President was wearing a tank top.
