My coin sorter, mostly given by Horgad and HCBTT (made by Horgad), but some of it was my lack of ingenuity ;) You can also see my library books I am using temporarily until I get a box of that height. Luke, you should be very proud of yourself. I am impressed with your motivation, dedication and intelligence (starting to hoard at your age). Keep it up. |

Don't forget to return the library books on time, wouldn't want to eat up your penny profits with late fees!
Let us know what sort of accuracy you get. |

I'm just proud he's getting library books. A lot of kids today don't read at all. |

My daughter (17) always has her nose in a book, but then she could care less about hoarding copper or silver. You win some, you lose some. |

My 3rd grade son is a big reader too, hopefully all of our kids will be since their parents are.
But just reading, while it is important, isn't enough.
I'm trying to convince him how important learning to write is, and to have a desire to learn more math.
It's not working out as well as I'd like though. He's one of those bright kids who doesn't have to try super hard to do very well in school, so he doesn't see the reason he should do even more than he already is.
I was a lot like that if I recall, and I don't want him to be complacent like I was.
I guess I'll have to keep working on him, though it's hard to reason with a 9 year old who thinks he knows everything already! |

My coin sorter looks very close to that.

`Everybody is ignorant. Only on different subjects.' Will Rogers
"This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the "hidden" confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard." Alan Greenspan, 1966. |
