Kept for nickel album - two -- 1/1948, 1/1949 - both of these filled empty spots in my album
Other stats: Two rolls were over five cents each roll, Two rolls were shorted five cents each roll, One roll was shorted ten cents (It contained the two dimes so for my purposes it was over by ten cents but I think the way Country keeps the stats it would be considered short ten cents since coins of the wrong denomination were in that roll so that is how I am going to list that stat here.)
Overage/shortage total: Shorted ten cents

| One box $100 of nickles. One war time nickle so worn I should have tossed it back; no date; I could just make out a "D" on the reverse. I put it with my war nickles, but probably should not have. A couple of '39 and 40's. Otherwise, not much. |

| 8 rolls of nickles each roll had between 8 and 11 pre 60 nickles.had a 39 s and a 50 p. but no silver. must have been a collectors dump most were well worn. and at least 15 60's in each roll. going back in the morning to get some more rolls from the same drive thru. |

| Last night I sorted $200 in nickles. 4,000 nickles. I looked at the front side for mint mark, which was faster for me than looking for the date, and only looked more closely at those without a front side mint mark. Got 4 war nickles, 1 1929 buffalo fairly worn, 34 pre-1960 nickles which I thought was low. And several canadian nickles, the most interesting of which was a 1942 12 sided canadian in very good condition made of "tombac", a copper alloy. Oh, and one 1980 proof. |

1 war ('44D); 1 foreign (1982 UK 20 pence); 3 s mints ('47, '51, '53); 31 pre 1960 keepers, oldest '39P(x2). No buffalo nickels or V nickels in this box.
UPDATE: I just found out that the '51s is a semi key date, with only 7.77 million minted  COOL!! |
