I'm used to seeing the 2009 George V Tracking thread at the top of the page.

Seeing as it's a new year I figured I would start the 2010 version.

As of today I haven't found one this year.

Good luck finding the bearded cents

HAPPY HUNTING!

This always needs explaining.

"George V" is on the Canadian small cents dated 1920-1936, inclusive. The coins you found (40/51) feature "George VI" on the obverse and are much more common in circulation.

George V Pennies look like my Aviator. I save the George VIs too, but I find enough that I'd be here posting finds to often to find many more.

I guess we could include George V large cents as well ,but I don't think anyone would get one in circulation nowadays.

You never know though?

I got a 1921 Geo V in a bag of halves last April '09 as well as an 1902 Eddy the VII.
I'm counting them as circulating, but I'd bet they only circulated form a dealer's "special" box to the Bank's coin counter.
They were a pretty neat find, none the less.

It just goes to show, what can happen if you're in the right place at the right time.
If it only would happen with the Lotto...

Well I finally found one after 1 million+ pennies. It's a 1929 and is in relatively good shape. I found 25 indians last year (23 were in the same $50. bag) and was starting to think I would never find a George V.

Picked a decent 1936 George V out of a box of Canadian rolls tonight.

That would be a George VI in 1947.

It's worth approximately 1 cent.

Trust the government? Ask an Indian.
