Ok so if I have this right, the 1920 was the first year of the small cent correct. Also how easy is it to come across the rest of the 20's and 30's to complete a collection, I know that finding all them in circulation is probably slim. I have done some ebay surfing since the finds and it seems some of these dates go for a premium. Are there other places to find these coins or will they demand a premium every where.

Yes the 1920 was the 1st year of the small cent, there is also a 1920 large cent.

Common date Canadian George V cents can be had in Canadian coin shops for about 10 cents each in circulated condition.

1922-1927 command higher prices if I remember correctly.

If you found those Indians all the time it wouldn't be so much fun when you find one. You just need to "sort more!"

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Is anyone going to clean this tracking post up a little? We have people posting their finds, but there is no organization. Is this due to the fact that members are confusing the George V's with VI's...still?

Selling Copper cents. $0 FV available at 1.4xFV. Also interested in trading for wheat pennies and other coins Please pm me for requests or inquiries.

I live in NC. I've searched 400,000 cents. I have not found a single george V. 1940 is the oldest Canadian I've found.

Working through a box I discovered a 1920 George V. Seems to be about the same size as our american penny in VF condition. I am amazed one 90 yrs old could be found in circulation in that good condition. Not sure if it is large or small cent. Anyone know the difference?

John,

Canadian small cents are the same size as American pennies.
Canadian large cents are about the size of American halves.

I found my first George V today while eye checking zinc. I have found over 40 indians and this was my first george V. It is a 1935 and is in nice shape except a little rim damage.
