Chball29, welcome. You might want to try and find a bank with a free coin counter, or a bank that accepts loose coin. I bet it is the first of many boxes for you....You are in good company here.

I see. It's cool to see another young person with what appears to be a good head on his/her shoulders. Good luck, hope your parents are on board.

Went thru 30 rolls today. 22%CU. 8 wheats. One was a 1932.

Went thru a box of quarters from where I work. Took some state quarters in almost uncirc condition out as planned, but found one silver quarter as well, 1950. Have not seen a silver quarter out there in a long time.

Most I do. I go to different branches when I'm in the area. One that I go to the most though I don't. I have just shown up at their business window so much they know me as the penny and nickel guy. I will often give a little wave to the bank officers there though just to act like I know them. BTW, there is a metal health office upstairs there so they get all kinds.

One drive buy today for one Brinks box. 15 pounds.

Purchased some silver on EBay in the form of silver war nickels (about 20). I am starting to get hooked on those for some reason. I never really gave them a 2nd look but lately they are growing on me.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

A mix of CWR and Machine rolls.
463 Copper 18% (lower than usual)

I KNOW!? What kind of blind does one have to be to put a button in there? There were 50 cents to the roll also, so I gues it was just for kicks. The same group also had human hair in every roll........weird...just plain weird.

3rd run
5,000 coins
764 coppers - 15.28%

This batch came from my credit union, same as the batch last week that had 15%. I didn't get any from the other banks, so I can't confirm that the dud flood is over. I'll report again when I get my car out of the shop.

BTW - I got a real shock: 1935 wheat sorted into the zinc bin using zinc standard. I put in a copper standard and it still went to the zinc bin. I put the wheatie in as the standard and it sorted exactly as if it were zinc. Was that the year they used a tin alloy?

A penny sorted is a penny earned!
