Actually counted what I sorted yesterday out of a $25 box.Came out to about 31% including 19 wheaties.I ctually thought I was closer to 40% but was wrong.Happy with 30 though

Coin Sorting Report for today:
Actually had something happen in my sorting today that has never happened to me before.. I had 2 rolls of pennies that had no coppers... and no zincs... As I was transferring the rolls of pennies I bought today from my bag to the banker trays so I could sort $25 worth at a time I noticed 2 rolls of pennies were quite short. I thought "Oh man, I got shorted!" Then I thought hey, I wonder if somebody used penny wrappers to wrap dimes because they didn't have dime wrappers. Sure enough, each roll had 50 darn dimes in it! Fortunately I had not even changed the paper on the automatic wrapping machine from dime paper to penny paper so after checking for silver (Too bad, all clad) I just dropped them in the machine and out came 2 nicely wrapped rolls.. instant $9 profit. That will just get added to the hoard fund.

I guess my odds of finding a quarter are pretty low if I keep searching penny rolls and never get any bags. I did find a quarter in a roll a couple of months ago.. it was a dollar roll.. LOL!
I have only struck silver 3 times in a penny roll. A mercury dime, a silver Roosevelt dime, and a 1926 british 6 pence. |

Lol go to a store and pump 76 cents in gas and pay with 2 rolls of pennies.You should get back 2 of those rare dime things and 4 chances at more copper.Of course the cashier may think you are a tad strange.

10 rolls Canadian nickels. SKUNked again. all 2008s. I tried to send them back, but the teller told me they were not able to give out any others. Yikes! They used to be a reliable bank.
4 rolls Canadian dimes. 76 Ni (38% - the lowest percentage ever! The ARP is alive and well)
2 silver dimes (one 1943, one 1965, both 80% silver)
[later edit - one roll of 2008s]
2 rolls Canadian quarters - Skunked again! A mix of dates, all steel. These were machine-rolled and came from an outfit called "Coinage Distribution Inc." Perhaps they are sorting for the Mint?
I have ten more CWR of nickels I got from my last good bank, that look good and I will be sorting these tonight. |

Just sorted a pieced together box from the local National City and it was a great one. Had 3 different kinds of hand wrapped rolls and 3 rolls of brand new 2007 P. The first hand wrapped roll I opened had 16 wheats. I ended up with $1.64 in wheats, $8.03 in CU, the $1.50 in fresh 2007's, a dime, a penny shaped like a hexagon, and everything else was zinc.
Got $300 in Brinks boxes I just picked up, I'll report back on those tonight or tomorrow

Nickels: 137 .999 Ni (22.8%)
Dimes: 148 Ni (49.3%) - no silver but 1 Ecuadorian dime |
