Bought a box since I have some time to kill and so far have gone through only 5 rolls. I havent checked the 82's yet, but I have found 4 wheaties already, 1 1965 Canadian, and look at these numbers:

Roll 1 - 37 1959-1981
Roll 2 - 14
Roll 3 - 20
Roll 4 - 39
Roll 5 - 46!!

I wonder if someone cashed in a collection or an old jar of pennies?

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

You might want to go back to that bank and buy a few more boxes. Those are great rolls!

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Wish I could today but they closed at 1pm. I have had 14 out of 25 rolls so far that have had 30+, with 6 of those over 40 (one came in at 49!). The lowest so far is 12, so I think you're right I need to go back on Monday and see if they can sell me more!

Ok the box is done and counted and here are the final tallies:

1959-1982 copper: 1360 54.4%
1909-1958 Wheaties: 37 (dates 1917x2, 1920, 1926, 1934, 1935-D, 1936, 1937)
Canadia pennies: 15

Also, I dont know much about these but I think they are called counterstamped? It's a 1976-D with the Liberty Bell to the left of Lincoln's head and an outline of the U.S. with the letters "USA" inside of it, and this is to the right of Lincoln's head. It looks like it has glue residue on the back so between this and all the copper and wheats, I am pretty sure this was part of someone's collection that got dumped.

What you are describing sounds like an engraved penny...a novelty item. The reason I say that is the image you described doesn't sound like it came from a coin die.

By the way if anybody does find a penny with an overlaying image of another coin on it:

If the overlaying image and lettering are a mirror image, it is called a "vise" job and was created by somebody to try and pass off as something special. This is done by smashing two pennies together (usually with a vise) thus the mirror image effect. They are basically worthless.

On the other hand, if the overlaying image is not a mirror image, then it was likely created at the mint by a die that strikes coins would be worth a premium. Hope that helps...

Yeah I have heard of people finding these. It took my 320 rolls (6 boxes and 20 single rolls) to find my first one. Do you know of anyone that collects these? I have no interest in it really other than for the copper content.

Still no kennedys, but I think I've found 3 or 4 states so far! And the coolest little pipe and smoke as if Lincoln was sherlock holmes
