When I came on to this forum I disagreed with realcent that zinc was "junk". True, it is not as 'sexy' as copper, but it is a commodity metal that us very useful in industry. I would like to suggest that you re-reconsider dumping all your zinc cents. The zinc cent's melt value is back over 72% of its face value today. I don't know if zinc prices will hold or not. But I do know that as more and more copper cents are pulled out of circulation it is going to get tougher to buy boxes of pennies from the banks. If the zinc cent goes back over 100% melt again then it too will attact the attention of hoarders.
I understand that many of you can not afford to hold on to all your zinc cents. I also understand that perhaps you have better use of the money. Such as PM investments. But if you are holding cash money any way why not consider holding at least some of it in zinc cents too? That is if you have the room to do so.
Just a suggestion and as always, take it or leave it as you decide is right for you.
