I was able to get a few pounds of 100% pure granular copper today for free. I also got 500 grams of powdered copper still sealed (it's not perfectly safe like the granular copper is). It was going to be thrown away! How ignorant. Besides its obvious value, copper is very beautiful and interesting in this form (could someone tell me how to post pics).

Sounds cool! To post pics you have to sign up for one of the many free picture hosting sights. The free accounts give you a small amount of space to upload a few pics. They also give you a link to your picture which you can post here.

I have used both You must be logged in to see this link. and You must be logged in to see this link. and there are many others.

I've always used imageshack.us

It does not require you to sign up for anything.

Right place, right time I'm guessing.

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

My guess is that they are left over shavings from some type of industrial copper sawings.

"Right place, right time I'm guessing." Exactly, NotABigDeal.
