I was just wondering what people do with their Canadian halves that are .999 Ni. Since they are hard to acquire are you able to get a premium for them if you sell them on craigslist or kijiji? Would a coin shop give you more than 50 cents for them? I have $98.50 1999 50 cent pieces. They look like they are unciculated and I doubt they were ever out of the bag they came in. I think it was a $100 bag ans some one took out a few. What would be the best way to get more than face value for them?

I'm interested on where you get these half and where you are thinking of spending them. I ask a few bank here and teller have no idea what a half is and they never seen one. Same for the canoe $1 previous to the 1986 loon.
I once saw a teller refuse to take a modern canadian 1/2 from a kid saving for Disneyland. I bought it off him for 2 quarters.

I have a few friends that work in banks and I let them know I like wierd coins and bills. My dump bank has been saving everything for me lately. Its been pretty nice. I dont know if I should change them to a pick up or not. I like how things are going there though.
I dont know where Im going to spend them yet. Maybe for tips or something like that.
