I have been ordering two boxes of pennies every two weeks at my local wellsfargo. The lady I usually talked to said as long as I didn't order large numbers of boxes and she mentioned "like 20 boxes" when I asked about any fees I might have to pay from ordering. So I figured as long as I stayed at a few boxes every two weeks, which is how often the "truck" comes I would be good. Today when I picked up my two boxes of pennies and the one box of nickels I ordered a different lady then the one I usually work with said as I was being handed my boxes "oh and they said if you keep ordering you will have to pay a fee for the costs to get the coin, because of the costs to get the coin." This is the 5 and 6th box of pennies I have got through this bank and my first box of nickels. I guess I find it hard to believe that 2 boxes of pennies every two weeks costs them that much when the truck comes anyways.

It's all about the fees, baby! The feds slapped down WF for excessive overdraft fees today.. they are looking for new sources of revenue. Funny.. my standard order at some banks is "like 20 boxes".. 24 boxes actually.. and I never pay fees. It is usually only a matter of time before they start using the "F" word.. no matter what quantities you order. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |

Mix it up if you can. Try other branches of other banks. A box here...a box there. It's a big learning curve to stay ahead of the fees! |

If you have a good relationship with the vault teller ask him/her if they'll save the customer wrapped rolls for you. They have no reason to charge fees for CWR's as they have to send them out anyway. I've found the only difference between CWR's and sealed boxes is that CWR's seem to have a few less wheats. |

I went in today and asked about buying the bags of coins from them, so they don't have to ship them off. NOPE, they say they can only sell vault coin. So I assume that would be the same was with the CWR's . The lady should call me tomorrow to answer what the fee will be if I order more boxes. |
