This week i've added to the skunks and in addition to what must be about 20 boxes without silver, one of the last boxes i searched had 1 roll missing $2 and another roll was completely absent from the box. It would be nice to see a box with 1 or two silvers on the top of the roll just to know my skunk run has ended.
The last 5-6 have been arriving at the bank taped because they are in such poor condition.
Thinking i should give up at this point. But if I do perhaps all you with nice AG track records would receive an unpleasant skunk recoil

While some folks are still getting great bags and boxes, I think other areas have run out of SILVER coins found in the wild. We all know that the supply of SILVER has been dwindling in the past few years. In my area, except for some CWRs that are nice, the dimes have virtually no SILVER, and the half boxes are the BU coins that have come directly from the mint (1994-P halves). I think it is possible to get SILVER, but I think for those of us for whom the supply has run out, it is time to consider moving on to sorting copper, buying SILVER coin, or reaching out to banks outside of our local area. |

Silver is getting scarce in my area. When I find it, it's a onesie, twosie, and 40%. Event those are getting fewer. I'm starting to consider finding another are for pickup. |

Well I'm willing to keep going a little while longer. I'm sure the return banks aren't upset seeing me go dump 1 half bag versus 6-8 pennies bags a week.
I would think about picking up in other locations, but i'm not really that motivated to move to another region. Who is to say how far one would have to go to find a region with a better percent find. |

Last one I found in the wild was in March. I have mostly given up and sticking with better chances, copper cents. |
Silver Monometalism is the most permanent and stable form of money the world has seen. Natural law and history prove silver value is best multiplied by gold and best divided by copper. It is only in this counterfeit currency time when the natural law appears suspended. |

Beau,
It's funny you say you search $4000 a week, and tell me sorting $2000 in pennies is tough. You are doing what $500 in pennies and $4k in halves. That's crazy too... |

Do you have multiple pick up banks?
I got skunked on one 1k order last week but on a $500 order from another bank later in the week I found 7 40% and 1 90% |

No just one bank. this week i'm going to ask for trouble by getting 7 boxes. Since the last order the boxes were all delivered FUBAR style, i may be asking for a major hit in poorly wrapped coin...
Paying a little more for the coins would be okay if I could find a couple 90%'s this week. <-- it's terrible to think this way |

So you don't have a Chase or a Well's that would order you the $500 tightly wrapped halves in the box?
I would try to spread the wealth and see if you can have a couple of banks to pick up halves from. Might increase your luck. I am new to this myself but it seems that there is one bank I was consistently getting skunked at even though they were tightly wrapped from a Brinks.
If I had just been ordering halves from the one bank and being skunked, I would get the half dollar blues too.

I've hopped out of the half game for this same reason. It seems when you factor in time, gas, and hassle (if you have to drop bags off to be deposited), the returns are no longer worth the effort if you are just in it for the Ag.
Dimes in my area seem to do ok (1-3 per $250) on a consistent basis, but the overall return for my time is still not great unless I can get Brinks clear rolls. |

I didn't like the brinks clear rolls because they were always skunks. I have more luck finding things in the NF Strings rolls. I am a stickler for my banks, Also i think there's one armored delivery in my town, so all the banks would simply be on their route if i spread the money around and that could really upset me to the point of seeing yellow off the delivery men. |
