Poll Question:
Pretty simple...
Have you ever found an Indian head cent in your cent searches or in change?
If you'd like to post a reply, you can tell us how many, or what years or whatever...

Choices:

Yes - I am one of the lucky ones.
No - there is no such thing as wild Indians.

Wild Indians..? Yeah right those are just a myth.

Of course I've found a "few".

Shattered, don't worry you will get one. Once you get one more follow. Keep up the searches and keep the faith!

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

If memory serves, I've found four. I can't remember all the dates off the top of my head, but I want to say two of them were 1881.

Yes, I have! It was in one of my heavy boxes that I weighed out on a scale.

Haven't found an IH since I've scaled back to hand-sorting after I sold my Ryedale, but I found an 1887 IH about a year and a half ago while I still had my Ryedale.

Hey welcome, Frankie C! That's pretty cool, actually getting one in change.

Now that I think of it, when I worked at a gas station in college, there was an Indian and a Buffalo nickel in the cash register one day when I went to work! I had totally forgotten about that! So this one that I found in a bag was not "officially" my first... but it was the first one found while sorting. Cool.

I've found two, a 1908 and another I don't remember the date of. Both were pretty rough.

Are you throwing that out?

Howdy, I've found quite a few Indians roll searching. Dates from 1864 thru 1908, nothing of major value though. The best were 1875 & 1879, both in good condition. Its a great feeling ah...

I have seen one in circulation in Canada, a 1906 if I remember right. Unfortunately it was in a locked donation box at a coffee shop so asking to buy it was not an option. The cashier seemed mildly interested when I pointed it out to him.
