Apparently, don't go picking in NYC. Well, if you have a car. Cause you might lose it AND get slapped with a hefty fine.

It's completely fine if you grab the item off the street manually, but you have to haul it on foot.

Ouch. Way to punish people who are actually helping to save landfill space. Most of our furniture was harvested from the curb but I did actually bring it here on foot (hand truck). Glad I don't live in NYC anyway, that law is ridiculous and little more than a cash grab.

Out here it could be illegal to pick up something that is put out for Bulk & Brush day, but at $14.50 a month for every household when they do pick up twice a year I don't think they care if there is not much metal left! I also wonder about the metal that they do get do they break it down further to get a better price?

If it's at the curb, it's FREE!!!! At least around here....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."
