A caught an FDIC "PSA" on television tonight and brought up the web-site. Looks like they have to coax the sheeple into keeping their money in the banks these days.

you're money may be "insured" but they will only release a fraction of your account to you at a time if the bank fails... and the FDIC offers about the same amount of protection (they're broke too) as the fractional reserves ratio employed by the banks. You'll be lucky to get one out of a hundred dollars back in a timely fashion. Several months is timely, isn't it?  |
